South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) paramedics will showcase their vehicles, equipment and skills at a special event in Taunton this weekend.
You are invited to attend the Open Day at Taunton Ambulance Station on Sunday 18 August, from 11am to 4pm.
The event will feature front line resources including rapid response cars, ambulance vehicles, and motorcycle response units – as well as the hazardous area response team.
Volunteer Community First Responders will also be available to talk about their role within the Trust.
There will be sessions about how to do lifesaving CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation, involving chest compression’s) and how to apply bandaging.
There will also be a bouncy castle, face painting, colouring, and hot and cold refreshments.
Dan Wilshire, Operations Officer, has told Tone News: “Weather permitting this should be a fantastic family orientated time with plenty of hands-on opportunities for those that want to see the vehicles and equipment we use, all guided by our front line ambulance staff.”
The event will take place at Taunton Ambulance Station, Lisieux Way, Taunton TA1 2LB.
Parking is not available on site. However, there are plenty of non-permit spaces in the surrounding streets.
