Last year I visited the South West Deer Rescue Centre near Crewkerne which is run by Mike Gauge. It’s totally funded by charitable donations and the work that goes into this amazing place is un-measurable. Mike works tirelessly to look after these magnificent animals every day of the year. He has around 150 deer of all different shapes sizes and ages.
Over the last year, I took it upon myself to send Mike and the deer four large sacks of carrots each month. As it was December I thought I’d make reindeer out of wood to sell at my work place which is Blackdown Garden Centre. All the money raised went straight to the rescue and I was overwhelmed by the amount of interest shown, managing to raise a staggering £800!
I would love for you to publish this in your paper as I feel it could spread the word for this amazing place which as I have said runs totally in charitable donations.
Thank you
Tracey
