A Taunton care home has four nominations for this year’s Somerset Outstanding Care Awards. Cedar Lodge, part of Notaro Care Homes, has been put forward for the following categories:
- Care Home Manager Of The Year
- Deputy Of The Year
- The Memory Lane Award
- Outstanding Contribution To Health And Social Care
Cedar Lodge provides residential care for people living with dementia in an extensively refurbished, warm and friendly home. The Limes is situated at the rear of Cedar Lodge in a separate facility and provides residential care for younger adults living with mental health needs. The Limes is a groundbreaking project entered into with the Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in 2008.
Carers understand the importance of meaningful activities for people living with dementia. Activities are built into all areas of life in the home. Life history and reminiscence work help to stimulate residents, so improving their self-esteem and sense of well-being.
Manager of Cedar lodge, Matthew Parish, has told Tone News: “To receive these nominations is a wonderful surprise! We’re feeling really proud that we have been recognised for all our hard work. Every single member of our team do an amazing job every day and make a real difference to our resident’s lives.”
The Somerset Outstanding Care Awards are a chance to recognise and celebrate the most dedicated individuals, providers and suppliers working within the care industry across Somerset.
