Editor of Tone News Darren Daley popped in for a chat with the proprietors, Max and Philippe to find out how they have settled in after an incredibly busy year in the county town.
“We moved the little Wine Shop from Bath Place about 4 months ago to Foundry Road and changed it to a wine & food platter bar with a deli.”
“There’s a wide range of wines by the glass or bottle, local craft beers and spirits (all of which are available in the shop for you to take home!), not forgetting our mouthwatering pick & mix menu of British cured meats & cheeses.”
“Philippe & I have been friends for over 30 years, since we worked for Marco Pierre White at Harveys in Wandsworth.
“Now, I have joined him here from Borough Market in London to launch our new venture which we hope will be a refreshing addition to the local community offering something a little new & different.”
“Our ethos is to bring together a selection of local produced products & those from farther a field to compliment each other in what we regard as a very continental style comfortable environment.
“We have also just put our planting programme together for our allotment which for a little ‘grow your own’ menu.”
“We look forward to welcoming you all to our house soon!”
