A visiting Music teacher at Queen’s College, Taunton, is attempting to create a world record this Friday.
Mrs Estelle Jackson is taking nine music exams on nine different instruments – all on the same day.
All proceeds from her marathon effort will go to the Sidney Lawton Music Trust, which helps students at Queen’s develop their musical talent, and the Stand Against Violence charity.
Mrs Jackson has told Tone News:
I’m doing one of each grade from Initial to Grade 8 inclusive on trumpet, guitar, trombone, cello, xylophone, singing, bassoon, piano and soprano saxophone.
I’ve been working hard for the past 18 months and It’s going to be a huge feat of stamina and concentration.
I also have about a dozen students sitting exams in recorder, flute and alto saxophone at the same time, so I’m going to have my work cut out!
