The 2022 Taunton Marathon and Half Marathon a huge success
Following a 2 year absence, the Taunton Marathon and Half Marathon was blessed under the sunshine this morning (Sunday 3rd April 2022).
One of the most popular events of it’s kind in the South West offering both full anf half marathon distances for those taking part.

As always, the Start the route went through the main streets of Taunton out into the Somerset countryside on the B3227 through Norton Fitzwarren, turning south through Oake and Bradford-on-Tone (turning left at the White Horse) then north back along Hele Road and Upcott Road to Bishops Hull.
Runner then had to turn left into Bishops Hull Road and left again into Netherclay Lane to Silk Mills Road.
Finally, they had to turn left onto Silk Mills Road, around cones then back towards Heron Drive. Turn left into Heron Drive and return to the College via the rear entrance, through the campus to the Finish line at the front.
Marathon runners completed the route twice, and had the pandemic not caused the cancellation over the last 2 years, today would have been the 40th anniversay.
The race was started by Hannah Taunton who was unable to run due to her training schedule for Team GB.
