Crescent Funeral Services in Taunton are delighted to congratulate James Chorley on completing his Professional Training with the Independent Funeral Directors College.
Listen to our EXCLUSIVE interview with Simon & James at the bottom of THIS page!
James came to work with Crescent Funeral Services, as an apprentice, after leaving Heathfield School when he was 16.
Since arriving at the Funeral Director’s, James has been receiving specialist tutoring from the IFD College to complete his Certificate in Funeral Practice.
What makes James extra special is that he is currently the youngest ever in the country and in the IFD College’s history to complete this qualification, at the age of 18.
James was required to continue his participation in Education until he was 18, under the new rules relating to the school leaving age.
The course James undertook, would normally take at least three years to complete, and he has completed and been awarded the qualification in just two. Simon Helliar-Moore, Director of Crescent Funeral Services explains to Tone News:
It has been amazing to witness James applying himself to learning all aspects of the Funeral Profession.
We have not held back from supporting James with his training, allowing him to experience all aspects of the profession and this has certainly helped him gain this qualification.
Along with hard work and determination, James is a credit to the profession and has a bright career ahead of him.
James was presented with his Certificate in Funeral Practice watched by his colleagues at Crescent Funeral Services, his mum Sarah Chorley and his Tutor Gemma O’ Driscoll via Zoom.
